2023 Hyundai Palisade

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade's popularity hasn't stopped growing since it was first introduced on the market a couple years ago, thanks to its relatively low price for its size. The Korean SUV is also full of high-tech systems, and it is pretty luxurious too.

The Palisade lineup has slightly changed for 2023 in Canada, with the SUV now being limited to three trim levels. The Essential entry-level trim has been slashed, leaving the Preferred as the new entry trim level with a base price of $50,054. This change is explained by the fact that most buyers go for this version and above anyways. So, it totally makes sense to reduce the lineup to those trims that really are popular.

The second option you can choose is the Urban trim with a base price of $55,254. This version adds up a few things to the Korean SUV equipment list, such as a 360-degree camera system, a digital cockpit, and a darker exterior finish. Finally, there is the Ultimate Calligraphy at the top of the Palisade lineup at $58,854. This is the most luxurious of them all. In fact, even I can't explain how Hyundai is able to offer such a sophisticated and sumptuous model for such little money. Don't get me wrong here; $ 58,854 is still a lot of money for the average person. However, if you look up for 7-passenger SUV with the same kind of equipment and finish, you will get closer to $100,000 literally everywhere else.

There is a new trim for 2023 for some markets, which is called XRT. This version gets a few upgrades in the off-roading department. However, it hasn't been confirmed for Canada yet, and it isn't available in the Korean SUV lineup currently.

A More Aggressive Front End

The most apparent modification made to the 2023 Palisade is the new front end which has been squared. This gives the Korean SUV a massive presence on the road. The back has been reworking a little bit as well. There are some upgrades on the interior too, but nothing too crazy.

Competent and Efficient

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade is powered by a 3.8 liters V6 that produces 291 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. This engine is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission and combined with an intelligent all-wheel-drive system as standard. The Palisade is capable of towing up to 5 000 pounds, and its average fuel consumption is 12.3 L/100 km in town and 9.6 L/100 km on the highway, which is reasonably good for a vehicle this size.
